But you're not here to sign contracts or sign your name anymore, the executor is going to be in charge of doing that; they're going to be the one that's going to be put in your place. So what happens in probate is the executive, the person in charge of the will, make sure that your wishes are followed. So if you have a house going to Sally then they are going to make sure that the house goes to Sally if you still have it in your estate when you pass away. If it says 20% of my assets go to Bob then they're going to make sure that Bob gets those 20%. Before they do that they want to make sure that all of your debts are paid, all of your taxes are paid and make sure that any money that's still owed you comes in to make sure that everybody gets what they're supposed to get.
